This lip balm kit is very fun to use. ( I'm 11.)
Pros: This kit is very fun to use. It has soyester (the balm base), berry wax, fragrances, shimmer and sun block drops. It also comes with UV beads and a compact for the lip balm, plus a "balmy sample wheel" that doesn't spin but you can use to make custom balms. There is also an unnecessary pair of gloves and a heating tray for the microwave.
Cons: Small quantities. Very little fragrances, shimmer, and color, but I suppose that's all you need to make the lip balm. There is a little extra supplies so you can make a whole new lip balm that you can make the recipe for.
Overall, fun activities for girls, I'd say, 8+. Good B-day gift.

They try to pass this off like a science educational thing. I wouldn't go that far. There is a project dealing with SPF, but that's as scientific as it gets. It is a good lip gloss making kit though.
