3Not bad; not greatOct 19, 2010

My 7 year old bought this with his birthday money and we've played it quite a bit since. The game is Sorry! on a much smaller scale, which is nice for quick play, but there are some new additions, too. The "claw" can be used to move a player back, but the rules say the player gets one chance to make the claw work; it usually takes me about 10 tries (my son loves that part), it's not well built.
The idea of moving walls to block your opponent is nice, but doesn't add much to the game. On 5 of 6 rolls you can either move through or relocate the wall yourself.
Nice game for kids; parents try not to think too hard about all the ways they could have made it better.

5Totally different game than the traditional SorryJan 06, 2011
By Iznibs
I had seen a few reviews on this game that "you build it the same every time" so I was a little worried. But Amazon offered a great sale so I tried it. I'm so glad we did! My 7 and 9 year old love it! Except for the name, it really isn't anything like the traditional game of Sorry. As for the "it's built the same every time". Well, to start with yes, but how you move the walls once you start makes each game different. As we've played it more, the kids have gotten more strategic what walls to move. However, strategy doesn't have to be a big part of this game. My older two (the 9 year old and a 11 year old) received Lego build games for Christmas which really do take strategy. This leaves my 7 year old of competing in those games. But everyone can get this game. It isn't that complex.

One note of durability - the "claw" that comes with it had to be taken apart by my husband to fix a poor assembly. The claws didn't come together so it couldn't pick anything up like it was supposed to.

But overall, it is a fun game. Do plan on reading the instructions to understand it the first time since it isn't like the old game. Some totally different rules.

5Excellent for family game nightJan 05, 2011

My son asked for and got U-Build Sorry for Christmas. He was very excited for us to try it out. The instructions give lots of leeway for interpretation and game modification (for example, changing the board layout) is encouraged.

It's a small board, but the game can last quite awhile, especially once the kids (mine are 6 and 9) figured out some strategy. Basically, they gang up on us adults to prevent us from moving anywhere.

Everyone starts with their large pawn on their colored space. The object is to go to the center and tag the little pawns of their own color and bring them back home. Players can jump over walls of their own color but not white walls, unless they roll the die and get the "ignore wall" move. With a lucky roll of the die, walls can be moved to get out of traps or to trap other players.

The claw is used to bring the large pawn of another player back home. Players only get one chance to use it; but it's so easy, no one ever fails. (If you're having trouble, try taking it apart and repositioning the gears to make the arms close more tightly.)

This is a fun game for the family. Our children played against us and I didn't die of boredom. Great buy.

5Great fun!! Highly recommended over the regular Sorry game!Nov 21, 2010

My 7yob just got this yesterday for his birthday. He loves it and easily understands the directions. I find that the gameboard could be a little thicker to make it more durable and to help the walls say in the slots easier. I also think that the u-build scorpion is a little hard to manuever around the walls w/o knocking them down. But overall, this game is great fun! I'm sure I will be buying it as gifts for other kids this year!!

2Fun but a bit frustratingApr 10, 2011

I play this game with my 5 year old. We have fun with it but it falls apart pretty easily. You are supposed to move the walls but if you bump the board or knock into a wall it falls over.
