OK set, but no storage...Jul 06, 2010

We got this set along with two others for our son. He's only just turned 1 and a half, but he absolutely loves all things Thomas. We have a table of Wooden Railway stuff set up in the family room, and wanted a few of the take-along sets for upstairs and to bring up on trips. This set comes with Percy, a trailer for pulling the logs, and two magnetic logs that split down the middle when run through the saw. The track is a simple circle around the base of the Timber Yard. It comes with two short connectors that bridge to the old-style track connectors, which is nice.
The one thing that I don't like is that there is no reasonable way to store the 4 curved track segments. Percy and his stuff fit great underneath, but the saw part that folds up to create the "back" of the set for travel is a joke. It doesn't snap or attach anywhere; you just have to sort of push it in against the roof of the set. The track barely fits and falls out easily. Very awkward. Fortunately, we have other options for storing track so this is a small issue. Overall this is a good set and will see lots of use I'm sure. Good value for the money - we found it for under $15.
