The game is more luck than skill nowJan 04, 2011

This is a relatively fun game, and if you are a fan of trivial pursuit, you may find it amusing.
However, they added a few things in to make this a card game that really ruined it in my opinion. First, there are Steal, Double Steal, and Block cards. These allow you to take cards from other players (the cards that would represent the colored wedges in the board game). Since you take out the wedge cards to represent which categories you have "won", if you are playing with more than two people, you get to the point where you have to reshuffle the remaining cards (and you always have at least 5 cards in your hand, which takes even more cards out).
Once this reshuffle happens, you tend to end up with mostly Steals and Double Steals. This means that the game is often won because of these cards - not because of skill. Case in point: my husband and I played with our 5 year old (who answered only one question correctly, with a lot of help), and he ended up winning because of the Steal Cards.
My other gripe (and this applies to all Trivial Pursuit games) is that often, the questions on the cards seem to bear NO relation to the category they are in.
If you play this game, as we are doing from now on, I would recommend removing some, if not all, of the Steal, Double Steal, and Block cards.

The only way to play trivial pursuitFeb 03, 2012

Trivial Pursuit is not my game. I spend too many rolls, turns, and wrong answers trying to get on the right square to earn a wedge only to give the wrong answer and have to try again. I NEVER pull the game off the shelf. This card game, however, is a different story. I still don't get the questions right but I can steal cards from my opponent who does get the questions right and I can use a wild to get credit for a particularly difficult subject by answering a subject that is easier for me. With the elimination of all the dice rolling the game proceeds much more quickly making the prospect of playing an entire game less daunting. You could use, with the card game, the question cards from your Trivial Pursuit games if you have special versions. I also like that it takes up so much less shelf space.

This game is so much fun! My husband and I have played it a million times (that's a slight exaggeration). It goes by so fast and I love that you can steal from each other. Trivial Pursuit Steal is a great way to spend an evening, especially if you are the one who keeps winning!
Fast Play for Trivial PursuitApr 29, 2012
By Nicole_26 My boyfriend and I love Trivial Pursuit, but the board game can take forever. This game is a plus because it can fulfill a craving for the trivia game without taking up your whole afternoon.
The game is entirely made up of cards. You have a hand of seven cards each with a wedge on it. On your play, you draw a card, then choose one to play. In order to collect a wedge card, you play the color wedge card you are trying to collect and someone asks you a question from the category. If you answer correctly, you collect the wedge. The game is given a twist when opponents can steal each other's wedges and use then to complete their hand of wedges.
The "steal" side of this game makes the game go by rather quickly in smaller groups. Steal cards are available in the draw deck as are blocking cards. The downside is that if you draw enough steal cards, you really don't have to master any trivia questions to win. Players can just steal others wedges. I'm sort of competitive so I'm not a big fan of this. It is a trivia game, after all.
Good for car rides and for a quick round of trivia. I like the game and I am glad I purchased it.
Fun game but not enough questions!Mar 04, 2012
By ErikaV This game is very very fun to play, I almost like it more than the board game. My only gripe with this game, and unfortunately it is a huge gripe, is that there are double and sometimes triple uses of the questions...WTF? Seriously? They could not come up with enough questions to have every question on every card be unique?! It's not like they have the entire Trivial Pursuit archives to choose from right (sarcasm)! I just don't understand this, it really ruins game play too because a double question is easy, you know the answer without having to think about it. Also, this is not my mistake, I didn't reshuffle, we noticed this the first time we played the game on the first pack, there were multiple double uses of questions, same question on two or three different cards!-All decks are the same too because for christmas my sister got this for me and my husband bought it for my mother, when we noticed this we checked both decks and sure enough, duplicate questions in both decks. This is very unfortunate because the game is a blast, just wish they wouldn't have skimmed so much on the content!
