I got the traxxas stampede electirc version. It was really good at about 30 mph it was pretty fast. The Bandit tops it as alot faster and more durable. I Ramped the bandit off a 3 ft ramp (on to concrete) but only got 2 weels on the ramp and it fliped and did 5 cartwheels and landed up side down about 25 ft from the ramp. I went and filpped it over and it worked perfect. I highly suggest this car if you are looking for a nice cheaap electic rc car.
PS: if you get this definatly get the traxxas ez-peak charger it is worth it. With out the ez charger it takes 8 hours to charge and give you about 30 min of run time. With the ez peak it takes an hour to charge for 30 min run time.

Fast, Durable and not too expesiveSep 19, 2010

My first entry into hobby class r/c vehicles. This can't be compared to anything you'll find at TargMart or We R Toys.
I'm still breaking in the motor at half power, but WOW- Crazy fast, durable and very awesome. I can't wait to let it rip.
Heavy weight servos, and if you ever need them- parts are widely available and an 1-800 support number if you need help. No more of that 'something little is broken, I'll have to throw it away!
Everything is included except 8 AA batteries for the controller.
You may also want to get the EZ-Peak charger. (1 hour VS 8.5 hour charge time compared to the standard charger).
Banged it into some curbs, rolled it, jumped it - and not even a wimper.
Put those old $50 r/c cars in a yard sale and step up- you earned it :)

A couple of weeks ago we decided to buy one of our dogs, Smokie (an Italian Greyhound) a new toy, we first went to Toys R' Us and bought their most expensive RC toy and immediately returned it. Then I did some research and found The Bandit. I was certainly hesitant to drop $200 on an RC toy for our dog but then something said go for it and the results have been nothing short of a BLAST!
You'll see in the video that I run this wide open from the moment I opened it, no break-in period or anything of the sort, just flat out fast as it'll run. The durability has been truly impressive, I've ran into into trees, up the trees, into fences, into a stone wall and although a few accidents have required some minor repair it is back and running within an hour or two at max. I even burned up the first motor by doing some things I shouldn't have but with Amazon Prime and $19, a new motor was on our doorstep two days later. Took about 10 minutes to replace it and we were back in the yard at full speed.

The Traxxas bandit is the cheapest r/c car they make but I think its one of the best electric powered car they made. It is completely water proof and is very durable. I've crashed into a curb about five times going pretty fast and nothings wrong with it. DO Not waste your money on a traxxas slash It's 50$ more and dose not go as fast. THe only problem is that the charger takes 6-7 hours to charge the battery. Get the EZ peak charge to only make 30 min

I purchased this product for my 5 year olds birthday. He LOVES remote control cars, trucks, etc...I know that this is an expensive purchase for a five year old, but I have purchased several remote control vehicles for less and they have all been somewhat disappointing in quality and didn't hold his intererst as I had hoped. Also, since it is more of a bigger boys toy, I thought that it would be something he and his Dad could enjoy together. And boy do they! They have a blast together as my husband shows him how to handle the car. They can drive it in the street or put to the test in the dirt. Cleaning it up after playing with it is teaching him to care for his toys and treat them with respect. It is of superb quality, rechargeable (needs 8 aa batteries for controller) and comes fully assembled. I plan on purchasing more remote control vehicles from this company for future gift giving occasions. They are of such good quality and durability that he can collect them and enjoy them into adulthood. Worth every penny!
