My 4 yr. olds number 1 request for Christmas. He has played with it everyday since he got it. Little bit of confusion over the name of the set. It is listed/called both "Search and Rescue Station" and "Harold's Helipad". My only negative is that the Thomas sets seem to be coming out with more and more plastic pieces. So much for Thomas and Friends WOODEN Railway...

I got this for my 3 year old and he loves it. He likes to make Harlod "fly" around. I like it because it's a stand alone destination... there's no track connected to it so you can just fit it anywhere you find the space. This is a must have for any kid who likes "Misty Island Rescue". Overall, nice addition to the Thomas and Friends collection.

I purchased this item on Tuesday for my DS from a local brick and mortar store. Today is Thursday night , IT IS BROKEN!
I have 2 kids, 3 and 4 year old, DS is 3 and DD 4.
All of our toys are in pretty good condition and i cant say my DS is excessively rough with anything. DD is pretty gentle.
This product is just poorly constructed for younger children. The part that broke is where the plastic bit is inserted into the tower- it no longer inserts, the plastic itself is fine but i guess the plastic in the tower is not, there is a small chip/crack/missing part, so ALL THE FUN IS REMOVED- if it doesn't spin harold around it kind of reduces the value of the toy significantly. I plan on calling Learning Curve tomorrow- will update with results.
Honestly- it should be a piece of wood with a metal screw/gear that inserts into a metal holder on top of the tower- it is is ridiculous that this item retails for 60$ and the ONE PART that is supposed to work and be durable is made of CRAP.
I have older pieces and there was about 80% less plastic than there is nowdays.

This set consists of Harold the helicopter, a landing pad, a hanger, and a tower.
1. Harold is wood except the blades [I read in other reviews they break easily], the tail, and the floats [wood swells so don't take him in the bathtub]. If you buy him separate he is about 1/4 the cost of the set.
2. The landing pad is a wood block with an H, good quality. Nice because I don't have room for the entire set on my train table.
3. The hangar is wood sides and base, and a plastic roof and button. There is no associated train track.
4. The tower is on a wood base, with a plastic top. The tower spins Harrold on a small clear paddle in a frantic, tight circle while making helicopter sounds. The tower lights and has silouted figures.
My son loves this set and wanted it in the store but I bought it online to save money. The paddle childproof, requiring an adult to fit it together, could easily get lost. The circlular flight path is very tight but my son loves it.
I can't find anything out there much better. Look at Plan toys before buying and of course price shop.

I love this toy and it was at a great price this Christmas. My son loves it. There is only one drawback, the piece that makes Harold fly is easily lost, it's clear plastic. But overall that would not deter me from saying buy this if your child loves Thomas. Great Price.
