2My 3 yr old son thinks it is broken.Dec 24, 2008
By Finn's Mommy
I wish I had read the other review of this truck before I bought it, but who would think it necessary to read reviews of a train/truck? This is the first Thomas wooden vehicle I have bought that I am not happy with at all. As stated in the other review, the trailer is not really attached to the truck, so you can never carry Madge around in one piece. My son has had the truck for 10 minutes and he has asked me to "fix it" about 100 times. Every time he picks Madge up, the trailer becomes unattached. If he moves the truck too fast (imagine a 3 year old doing that), the trailer becomes unattached. The vehicle looks great and is good quality like the other vehicles but is no good for playing.

2It's actually 2 piecesJan 11, 2009
By A. Mott "Always on the hunt for something different"
Cute toy, wooden like all the other train stuff but it's actually 2 pieces, I guess I must have missed that in the description, the bed just has a little hole that goes over a small peg, if you keep the truck completely flat, it doesn't come out but if you intend on moving her up and down roads and hills and such it will come out all the time and can cause some frustration, wouldn't have bought if I knew this.

3Trailer comes apart from the front constantly!Nov 17, 2008
By K. Gorgone "from Baby Time"
We bought this for our two-year-old, who loves all things Thomas-related. He was so excited, and immediately wanted to play with his "new friend, Madge the truck." To his frustration, and our disappointment, the trailer isn't really attached to the front of the truck -- it just rests on a little plastic nub. Basically, if he pulls the truck or turns it, the trailer comes off. Guess what, pulling the truck along and turning it is the whole point!

A real disappointment, especially because he was really excited about Madge. There must be a way they could improve this so it works.

4Only Thomas road vehicle that can carry a trainOct 21, 2011

My four year old has been asking for Madge for months but with the poor reviews about the pieces coming apart I held off getting it until recently. I'm glad I got it. He is really enjoying it, particularly because Madge can carry engines and coaches. There is a magnet on the trailer part that helps to hold the engines on. It isn't big enough to haul bigger engines like Gordon, but my son is enjoying hauling Thomas around. He hasn't said anything about the pieces coming apart. If Madge comes apart he just puts her back together and keeps playing. I could see why it could be a problem with younger children, but Madge is a hit with us.

5My son asked me to rate this five starsAug 01, 2011

My son says the fact that the truck comes apart is fine with him. He says it stays together when he's moving it along slowly. I emphasized the problems with this item before we bought it. He tells me he likes the way it is.
