Not worth the money...find something else!!Sep 20, 2010
By tstegall04 I bought this toy for my 3yr olds b-day party last week. He loves Thomas and tools so I thought this would be the perfect gift, well I was wrong. The description says it's a wooden tool box, but the only thing made of wood are the tools. The box is made of particle board that was cracked and busted off the sides when I unpackaged it. I had to super glue the handle back on twice since we opened it. The holes in the box are too big for any of the screws or bolts to be hammered or screwed in, so it leaves the child wondering what to do with the tools. My son has played with this maybe 2-3 times but becomes bored with it and gets in trouble for banging on my furniture since you can't do anything with the box. I wish I would have packaged it up and shipped it back, but it was 2 days till his b-day when I received it and didn't have time to return it and find something else. If I could have I would have given this toy 0 stars. Don't buy unless you want a very disappointed little one.

Thomas The Tank Engine Tool BoxApr 05, 2009
By R. Berg Hmm...didn't quite get the response from my 2 year old that I thought I would get. He plays with it.. but he wasn't WOWed by it.. I think the box is cute and nice size, has all the Thomas colors and pictures on it. Probably would have been better for an older child, at least 4 years or older.
Great for the tools, hope you didnt want the tool box and dont mind broken bonesMay 12, 2012
By S. Gates Within seconds of this being opened on Christmas it was in pieces! There is only one tiny screw in the handle holding the sides on. The long sides and bottom board are held in by pressure from the red Thomas sides. Since the screw does now seem to hold the sides in tightly (and tightening only applies more pressure to the top which pops the bottom out also causing the whole tool box to collapse) the toolbox as a whole is useless. We now just have one side with Thomas painted on it as wall art. We have all the tools and screws though still. They are great and in use daily with his lil tikes tool work shop. We mainly bought this for the tool box though and it was a huge disappointment for the price.
Oh, and it hurts like crazy if you toddler wails you with that wooden mallet, my son actually broke 2 of my fingers with it. Plastic tools seem to not do that much damage. My son does have sensory issues though and loves to bang stuff. So maybe its just his super human strength. But I would have bought a plastic version if it was available.
Junk!!!!Jul 22, 2011
By Diana This is a piece of JUNK!! It would be a lot of fun except the screws stripped immediately in it so the box fell apart and no matter what you do, we have even glued the screws back in and it continues to break so it is now in the trash. It lasted a whole day....thats it!!! DO NOT BUY!!!
fell apart but was fixable...Feb 21, 2011
By 1977res Needs glue and more screws. Everything fell apart within a few minutes of use. The head came off the hammer, the heads came off the screws the screws came loose on the tool box and it also came apart. I glued everything and put some 1/4 longer screws in the tool box and put one on each end of the handle. If they are not going to put these together very well they should just ship them out as a kit to put together. BUT after fixing everything it seems to be my boys favorite toy for now.
