this is a fun new toy, perfect size , not big and bulky to move around the squinkies are adorable , playsets are durable , never had any problem with doors falling off or anything breaking, my daughter loves them and shes 9 she loves little animals and toys so this is great for different ages not just as specified . i been searching high and low for the diffrent sets they sell out as soo as they hit the shelves get them now before holiday time or you will never find them. even online they sell out ....i recomend this toy for ages 4 to 10

What a fun new product! We purchased this set on a complete whim after seeing them in Target. My five-year-old daughter and almost four-year-old son have been playing with them nonstop ever since. The actual Squinkies by themselves are really fun. They are tiny rubber-like squishy figures, each of which come inside of their own little plastic ball. The balls open and close, so you can either play with your Squinkies while in the balls (my kids have taken to rolling them around on our hardwood floors), or take them out to play with them. The Gumball Surprize Playhouse comes with several Squinkies and serves dual purpose. You can either put the balls inside of the gumball machine and 'buy' a Squinkie with the provided plastic coins (you can also use real coins); or, open up the sides to reveal two rooms to use as a playhouse. A few pieces of furniture are included to use with the playhouse.
After seeing my children squealing with delight while playing with these, we just HAD to go back to the store and purchase some of the bubble packs. Each bubble pack contains 16 Squinkies, with a nice mix of the following varieties: Kitties, Friends (which are little girls), Ponies, Pets, Puppies, and Babies. On our way home from the store, my daughter said, "Mommy, I really like these!". She has never done that before, so I know we have a complete hit in our house. Overall, I would say that the older kids will only want the Squinkies themselves, but the younger kids will enjoy the playsets. I have an overwhelming feeling that this is going to be the next 'craze' for kids. That said... WARNING: These little Squinkies are totally ADORABLE, collectible, tradeable and outright addictive! Don't say you haven't been warned!

My daughter opened this for her birthday. Within 5 minutes the little door on the front fell off. Then it stopped dispensing the squinkie balls. I would return it, but my daughter loves the little squinkies that came with it. So I will suck up the amount I paid for it and hope I help other people not purchase this cheaply made, easily broken piece of C**P toy.

Oh the power of advertising. My daughter really wanted these for her birthday. And she does love them. But was a little disappointed when she was trying to get them to squeak like the commercial. They are just little plastic soft figures with a hole in the bottom. Would be a great pencil topper. I think it is still a fun little toy and she no doubt loves it, but we were under the impression that squeak noise in the commercial when they squish it was how it was going to be. My daughter is 5 and her 2 and 6 year old siblings already are saying they want squinkies for their next birthday too.

Like another reviewer, we bought this on a whim after seeing it in the store. I was afraid of finding the two halves of the plastic 'eggs' all over my house, but they are held together with a little hinge so they don't come apart. My 4 year old is absolutely obsessed with this toy; while my 8 year old likes it a lot too, she can hardly get it away from her little sister! Four stars, because the door does fall off sometimes, and because the coin slot can jam temporarily and stop dispensing the squinkies. Other than that, it's adorable, and a great concept. I doubt it has any educational value but it's fun fun fun!
