Sea Munnies!Dec 02, 2010
By R. J. Valentine I fell in love with sea monkies after seeing the Rugrats episode with them as a small child. As a college student, though, they are a fantastically simple pet yet will still be entertaining enough.
Just make sure you follow the instructions exactly and don't do anything stupid!!! These are easy enough for a five year old to hatch; I honestly think the biggest problem is not spilling them!
My best advice: Research how natural brine shrimp behave and are cared for.
Tips- Make sure whatever container (as this product does NOT include one) you select is SANITARY! They must be clean but not washed with soap (or they'll die). Also do not use a huge aquarium or they will get lost, or worse, sucked up by the filter! Boil the water before you put it into the container/tank. AERATE THE WATER OFTEN!! This is what so many people do not do, but baby sea monkies use great quantities of oxygen so it is important. I added a HEATING PAD under my sea monkey home to maintain an average temperature (during the winter nights).

Great funApr 22, 2010
By SusieQ It's awesome to watch the sea monkeys grow and mature. I didn't use this for it's educational value, I am just a big kid and it's brought me a lot of entertainment. You may need to get the other food and supplies from the official sea monkey company to ensure they live long lives.

They Hatched!Jul 03, 2011
By Diane L. Otoole Thia kit is ok. I have had sea monkeys for two years now and have never had a problem with the eggs hatching. However, when I put this new batch in only two eggs hatched so I was quite upset. Now, four days later, all the eggs have hatched and my daughter is thrilled. So,to anyone that says the eggs dont hatch, you might want to give it some time.

Kids Love ItSep 25, 2011
By D. Burk My two sons 8 and 6 thought this was the coolest thing ever. Watching their sea monkeys grow and feeding them gave us many hours of fun. There is little to do on our part and the sea monkeys grow. Great for parents if you don't want fish or something more complex. The kids were completely into the sea monkeys.
One minor thing to note: the aquarium is not sturdy. This is expected for the price. My son knocked it over by accident and we had a mass die off. The aquarium can tip easily and the lid sits loosely on top. In the future I may put the sea monkeys in a wide glass jelly jar or something sturdier.

Sea MonkeysSep 11, 2010

These are kind of hit or miss. Sometimes I get a lot of sea monkeys that live and this time I only got a couple. They definitely don't live two years like it says. They are fun to watch swimming around and mating and playing. It is educational to take care of a living thing with feeding them. I also got the million bubbles pump to put air in the water. They are cheaper than fish and easier to take care of though. I recommend buying them and trying it out. I think maybe it was too hot in my apt. when I did the sea monkeys here recently and that might by why I didn't get too many hatched. If my last couple die I will definitely try again here in the fall and see what happens!
