Beautiful tea setDec 17, 2010

I searched everywhere online and in stores for a cute tea set. My daughter had previously owned a cheap miniature porcelain set we bought while on vacation at a souvenir store last summer and has loved playing with it. What I didn't like about the miniature set was that you couldn't actually put water in the tea pot and we kept losing track of the extremely small pieces. So this time I was looking for something bigger. A lot of tin tea sets are not reviewed well. I was hesitant to buy them. I saw this set into a specialty toy store and loved that it had a basket to store the set in. I had read that the set was too small in some reviewer's opinions. When I handled the set at the store I didn't think it was too small at all. I think it's the perfect size for a child, and I'll be able to play better with her with this one than the super tiny porcelain set. I don't see why it's a bad thing that this set is made of tin. I've looked at porcelain sets and if they are bigger than miniature they are too expensive for a child's toy. You basically are left with the option of tin or toddler's plastic sets that my daughter seems too old for now. This is the cutest set I've come across by far. It retailed for $25 at the toy store, but I bought it at Amazon for $19. I'm looking forward to lots of tea parties with my little girl.

I got this as a gift for my 2 year old neice, and it is really REALLY small. It's cute and I like the fact that its not plastic, but it is extremely tiny.

My daugther loved this tea set. She had another one but gravitated to this one. I think it was because it was small and her 2 year old hands could work with it better. She also loved putting water in it. We tried to keep it dry but 8 months (she got it as a Christmas gift) later, it is rusty on the cups and tea set. We need to replace it.

It is impossible to completely empty water from teapot and even though I let it drain upside down for hours and stored it with a paper towel inside to absorb any remaining moisture, the teapot rusted inside.

we got this for my daughter who is six and she is always giving everyone in the family a cup of tea and a treat. She informed me that it is her second favorite gift that she received for christmas.
The cups have been dropped many times, and do not break. the teapot has only one dink in it that is very small, and that is only from her carrying the whole set around and helping everyone with tea and dropping it so much. it is so much fun though.
