4Great addition for the young rock tumbler.Feb 15, 2009
By Hal Caufield
We purchased this item as an add on to the rock tumbler we purchased for our Grandson. He is very excited about his newly found hobby, and quickly ran out of the rocks that came with the tumbler. Having the refill kit allowed him to continue his hobby without interruption. He has already ordered a second refill kit from the same seller. Great product.

2don't get this one; keep lookingDec 10, 2011

To be precise, the "silver jewelry settings" are "grey plastic" rather than "real silver" or "silver/chrome-colored metal." Also, it gives you just a tablespoon or two of each grit, so if you have a more-standard 3-pound rock tumbler rather than the precise model pictured here, you won't have nearly enough rocks/polishing medium for a single batch. Also, the included rocks are mostly unexciting and even though it does include three tiny slightly-better stones (like a rough amethyst) the size of a pea in a separate bag, if you actually tumble them with the larger stones they'll be crushed to powder and disappear (despite having a similar hardness on the Mohs scale... all that pounding crushes them rather than just rounding off the corners). So if you're wanting a refill for your rock tumbler, I suggest doing a web search for "silicon carbide grit tumbler" (that last word is just so you get grit for rock tumblers rather than for sandpaper) and/or "crushed rock for tumblers" to find some better choices.

Shipped quickly. I bought this for a friend as a gift. She is loving it. Just after two powder cycles, the rocks came out beautiful and smooth.

3Refill kit for rock tumblerJul 18, 2008
By Carmen M. Glaze
This kit worked grate with my tumbler. It had everything I needed. I only wish it had more than 1 small packet of each of the grinding dust.
