We have enjoyed this Marble Run, but changes are needed.Dec 06, 2008

I purchased this marble run after looking at about 30 others. I liked that it was transparent and had many pcs that looked interesting and fun. My daughters are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 and they both really enjoy using it. The clear pcs make for extra excitement while the marbles run. The problem is that there is only ONE bottom pc that allows the marbles to fall through. Otherwise all the marbles get stuck at the end in a blue end pc that has no hole. Also the marbles are really small (and maybe all marble runs have small marbles) but I don't even know where to get some extra marbles in case we lose some, which we will :) I am still happy I purchased this marble run but it does need some modification by the manufacturer.

Marble Madness FunJun 01, 2007
By Only_the_best Really fun toy - my 4 yr old girl loved it (although it has been only 2 weeks since we got it).
Definitely needs some adult supervision as the parts are a little hard to connect.
It really needs to be on a table top or hard floor to keep its balance.
I think this transparent version is great because you see the ball - opaque ones would
only allow you to see the ball going in and at the end, coming out.
The construction seems durable enough - there is a slight stretch in the plastic.
You could twist it without breaking. Have fun!

give it a chanceJan 19, 2011
By marblerunner I did the research and heard the complaints and I think a phd thesis can be made by studying how peoples' (rising) expectations today contrast to the overall (decline in) quality of all manufacturing and then cross compare it with 50 years ago and then end up by telling everyone to get over it. This item is a great deal. It needs some patience and some brains, if you have none, Amazon can not sell you any. It is well made but does reflect the cheapening quality we parents are used to when we replace toys of our youth. I personally recommend getting 2 sets because the kids love it, and we benefit from having more kids playing together than taking turns. It does have a great variety of pieces, some other sets seemed to have 1 or 2 more types of spins and bumps but I like the quality of this one.

Excellent funOct 20, 2007

This is such a good toy for constructive play. It gets children thinking in three dimentions and a bit of physics (gravity) thrown in. All the children I have gotten it for will spend time trying to make the marbles go where they want. It would be nice to have larger pictures of the models shown on the box, sometimes it is hard to see which way to turn the channel pieces, but we just "try it out" and the children like that too. The holder for the wheel is fragile, we broke one the first time we were using it. It is excellent fun.

Fun starter setApr 18, 2009
By Victoria Lee I bought this product a couple years ago for my then four-year old daughter. She was very excited about it then, and still enjoys playing with it now. It is a popular toy with the children in my preschool class and one that is often brought out when friends are over. Younger children will have a hard time assembling a working run on their own. It won't last forever. As I said, we've had it for over two years now and have used it quite a bit. The purple wheel pieces never worked very well (marbles would get caught up in them) and broke easily. We have some blue connector pieces that have cracks and won't stack anymore. Despite that, I feel it is a good value for the money because it is an inexpensive set and lasted through a lot of playtime. Now that I've seen how much the kids enjoy it and how timeless it is (children of many ages seem to gravitate toward it), I'll probably buy a wooden set because they appear more durable. If you aren't sure if your children will like it or think they might tire of it, get this set first and try it out. I wasn't disappointed.
