The confetti play-doh is cool, but the confetti maker is so-soDec 28, 2009

This looked like a fun play-doh tool but as far as fun goes it is only so-so. The coolest part of this set is the confetti play-doh which is white with neat bright colored dots of confetti in it.

The confetti maker itself is fine but would work better for older kids. My three year old son had a lot of trouble snapping the ring over the top of the maker and twisting it down so it stayed on. He got frustrated with it right away. He had a lot of fun watching the confetti come out when I did it though.

Also the confetti maker says it makes star, circle, and square shapes but because of how it is extruded all of the shapes look like little square blocks.

Overall my son kind of got a kick out of all the little small pieces falling out and he liked putting them on top of his play-doh cakes. It would work better for older kids though because it takes a lot of dexterity to get the confetti maker closed and ready to go.

As a parent I didn't like the toy much. There are tons of little pieces of play-doh everywhere. I was picking them up off the floor forever. The confetti maker is also really deep so it is hard to get all the play-doh cleaned out.

It's an okay set, but there are better ones out there. I would recommend the Play-doh Star Wars Playsetover this one.
