My daughter got this from Santa and is absolutely, completely in love. It really is a marvelous toy. Though pricey, it's so much nicer than almost any other "made in China" toys out there on the market that cost almost as much. There are a lot of pieces, and it does take time to assemble everything, but the quality cannot be beat. No hanging upside down, desperately trying to match up poorly made screw holes or fit things where they refuse to fit. These pieces snap together effortlessly and perfectly. This is our second playmobil set (we have the dinosaurs and volcano) and I am sold. Compared to the junk that is in most stores today, this is a quality toy that will last her through her childhood. She loves the animals and the details are incredible, down to the flowers on the plants, the informational pictures for the animal pens, and the moving elephant ears! My daughter also loves the tourists, especially the baby in the stroller.
Note that there are many, many, MANY tiny parts - brushes, leaves, flowers, buckets, hats - so make sure your child is old enough to manage keeping up with them all. It's a little clumsy to move once it's assembled, so put it where you'd like it to stay. It can be moved in parts, but the fencing tends to unsnap apart if you try to move it all at once. Enjoy this great toy!

I just finished assembling this toy for my five year old for Christmas and I can't WAIT for her to see it!! As impressive as, if not more so, our other Playmobil items. (We have the farm, the plane, the ambulance, a fairy castle thing, and numerous add-ons.) The details are fantastic as always, making this a great toy with which to grow. The animals are gorgeous. The whole layout is terrific. I have no doubt this toy will be the highlight of our Christmas morning.
FYI, it took about 90 minutes to put together.

We got this for my son when he was 3 and he loved it. When we first got it we did not show him all of the tiny pieces, but put together the main zoo entrance and pens and gace him the incredible animals and the people (without all the accessories). This was the perfect decision. Now those parts aren't lost and a year later he is old enough to play with them. He loves all the plants and the baby. The moving elephant ears are awesome and he thinks that making the giraffes eat from that tall basket is awesome. He plays with this with his older sister and tons of friends and they are able to use the zoo as a zoo, a dungeon, a hideaway and many other things.
I love how realiztic the animals are and all the wonderful little details that came with the zoo. Just be warned the pieces are tiny. There are little souvenir animals that are smaller than a fingernail. So if your kids are younger you may want to hold back some pieces until they are older.
We have a playmobil little pieces box that I keep and take out when I am with the kids that houses all those accessories from the different sets. Works great!

My 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son both love this toy. I have never seen them play together so nicely and for so long with one toy. It isvery good quality and it is quite cute. I'm sure we will be buying more of the zoo accessories to go with it.

I bought the Playmobile Zoo after a lot of research trying to find a large Zoo set that was reasonably priced for my 3 1/2 year old grandson. He loves animals and the set really fills the bill. The only drawback we have found at all is that the largest elephant came broken and we have not been able to resolve that problem yet. I don't think it was broken during shipping either, because the problem looks more like a factory mistake. Amazon had the best price and the shipping was easy.
