Great for Preschoolers who want to cutMar 23, 2011

We picked these up a local retailer shortly after the christmas season and had it put away for a special occasion. This came a few weeks ago after a particularly good week of potty training. He was ecstatic! My son is younger that the recommended age at 2.5 yrs. He is always very excited to use scissors and these are perfect as they won't cut anything but playdough. First thing he did was try to cut his hair, the cats hair and mommy's hair of course. The scissors are absolutely harmless and perfect for his little hands. I do have to say they are difficult to switch from wavy to straight cutting mode. I don't think my son will be able to do that independantly for a few years.
Pros:
- Take out of packaging and play
- Scissors are safe and won't cut anything but playdough
- Will occupy an older toddler or preschooler for atleast 15-20 minutes (great to sit them at the table with when preparing dinner)

Cons:
- Scissors are difficult to change between wavy and straight mode
- Only came with one color of dough
- Colors on my model were somewhat girly (not exactly ideal if your trying to color coordinate an easter basket or something of the like for a little boy)
