Prepares for dentist visitNov 22, 2011
By h3ath3r2 My almost 3 year old son knocked his teeth out at the playground so visiting the dentist started to become a traumatic event for him...until we bought this toy! He played with it everyday up until his next dentist visit. We each took turns and pretended to be Dr. Todd (his dentist). After 2 weeks, we went to his dental appointment, and it went great. Love this toy! I recommend this for any little one who is approaching his first dentist appointment.

I received this as a gift for my six year old boy. It is easy to assemble and the pretend drill works great. Unlike most play-doh toys, this one is easy to clean and put away. This is definitely a toy that will get lots of play.

Bought for my grandkids, their mom is a dental hygienist.Oct 08, 2011
By trent The kids love it. Their mom is a dental hygienist! You can not go wrong with play doh - it will be around for 100 more years!

Some parents are pro Play-Doh and some are not. In saying that I mean to imply that unless you are an intimate of the family, this might not be a welcome surprize gift. I've heard Mommies restrain themselves as they pried the viscous stuff our of crevices in furniture as well as the hair of children. I needed to get a gift for a child and this was what her mother suggested. It was well received and the child seemed to enjoy playing with it. When encouraged to play along, I declined-with thanks-and remembered a meeting with my painting contractor. Play-Doh has earned a solid, well deserved reputation for their ability to merge fun and education. One might, however, speculate on what the child's reaction might be on a first time visit when the doctor couldn't be squished, squoshed, squashed and pulled apart. In short, it's the sort of toy that has the ability to sugar coat an experience that cannot always be made "fun".
