Bought this for sale at Walmart for my 3 year old daughter who loves Play Doh. She had hours of fun making Alphabet Soup along with lots of delicous treats and of course cookies to feed to Cookie Monster and was amazed when he really "ate" the food. Unlike other playdoh sets I have bought in the past (for example the ice-cream shop, this set is something we can play together, but yet easy enough to operate and play with by herself too. It is easy to clean up and store, which is a plus in my book when it comes to Play-Doh sets. I would highly recommend this for the 2-4 year old age group. Fun and Educational; you can't beat that !

We have a few of the Play-Doh sets and this one is BY FAR the favorite. You can make food, feed Cookie Monster, and watch him poop. It's tailor made for a 3 year old. It has staying power, too. She hasn't gotten bored with it and we've had it for 9 months.

My 2 year old loves this toy. So do I. Really creative. She loves feeding him and he "poops". Perfect for a 2year old. A great way to work on her letters too

Fun and Educational phonemic awarenessJan 24, 2012

I got this toy to help my son (age 4 at the time) work on his letter sounds. His preschool teacher had suggested making letters out of pretzel dough, but he got frustrated shaping the letters himself. With this set I made the letters for him, and we made the letter sound as he "fed" Cookie Monster. Like other reviewers mentioned, my son seemed to think the letters were being pooped out the back. I think that's a little gross, but it kept him interested in feeding more letters to Cookie Monster. After each letter came out the back, I would show him how to properly trace the letter, and then he could smash it to be recycled. We also played together with his little sister (age 3 at the time). It was the most fun we had working on phonemic awareness. They are now ages 5 and 4, and they know all their letter sounds. They still play with this toy and sometimes feed him words. For some reason they think it is hilarious to feed cookie monster the word cat or hat. (He's eating a hat, ha, ha ha) And so goes the mind of child in prekindergarten. At least they are blending sounds to make words. Of course sometimes they just pretend to be chefs and make him veggie soup or hamburgers. They probably play with this toy only once or twice a month but for MANY hours at a time. On a rainy day, their 6 year old brother may even join in to help cook some alphabet soup.

My almost three year old son has been playing with this set for days now. He's learning his letters, so it's perfect practice for that, plus he has been making cookies and vegetables for cookie monster to eat. It's something he can use by himself pretty easily, plus something fun to do together.
I highly recommend this toy for the 2-4 age group.
