Great tea set!Jan 10, 2009
By B. Salgado I purchased this tea set as a Christmas gift for two little girls to go along with their other 'kitchen themed' presents. I liked it because it was wooden and seemed more substantial than many of the other sets I had seen. Their mother says they love it! She says they pretend to have tea all day long, and the set features realistic tea bags, which are not pictured in the photo here.

Super Excelent Tea Set - High QualityJul 16, 2010
By amazon soldier The tea set is quite small, which others think that it's a bad idea, but not the kids who play with it. It's almost perfect for their little hands.
Rubber Wood is and has been the best natural raw material for wooden toys. Melisa and Dough's toys are crawling somewhere way back in the quality for wood as well as paint.
If you are looking for QUALITY rather than for quantity, this is the way to go! Your kids will be thanking you!
Note: I didn't give the review until my children had a test drive for over a month with this tea set! PLANT TOYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice for boy or girlJul 16, 2009
By M. Mckinnis My son received this from his grandma for Christmas. She thinks that all children boy or girl need to have a tea set. She knows how I feel about plastic so she was able to find this one. What I like about Plan toys compared to Melisa and Doug is that the colored areas on Plan Toys will not chip. Its more like a deep stain then a chip-able paint. I have to keep the sugar cubes put away until my son is older. I was afraid he could choke on one if he put in his mouth. Also they would be easy to lose. But they are a charming feature esp. for an older child. The set is small in size but really the perfect size for small hands. I love to have tea parties with my son because of how fun these are.

Durable, Safe, and Charming!Jan 24, 2011
By JudiAU My 3.5 and 1.5 received this as a Christmas present. It is delightful to play with. The lids on the tea pot and sugar pot get a lot of action, the tea bags/sugar cubes/stir sticks are very fun too. Yes, everything is small because it is pretend. Great quality and it stores compactly, all the little things will fit in the tea pot. We got the fun little Haba play cakes at the same time.
If you are concerned about size, the wooden sugar cubes are small, then store them until later. We have a single ziploc bag which keeps tiny playmobil pieces or whatever until later.
I debated between this and the Green Toys (all well reviewed, food safe, and "green") and bought that one for my niece. We just like wood better. Both were a lot of fun but this is nicer. I just wish it had or I could buy extra tea cups.

Small and poorly madeDec 17, 2010
By NathHawth The seams on the tea pot are obvious. It is clear precisely where two pieces of wood were glued together. I'm worried they may come apart if it falls. Not the finest craftsmanship. The glue used to put the handle on the tea pot is clearly visible. Also, the sugar pieces and stirrers are TINY! I would be concerned for any child to handle it, even one over three. The handles on the cups are very hard to handle for little hands or big hands. They are also tiny. The set looks lovely from a distance, but not very practical and not very well made. I'm surprised. Plan Toys are usually well made. Also, if you are seeing this for more than 44 dollars PLUS shipping, that is certainly not worth it for this set. I bought it for 28 dollars with no shipping a week ago. Better to pass this one by.
