2Nice quality, but magnets destroy usabilityApr 14, 2010
By E. Botsford "Brooklyn"
Agree with the previous reviewer... the magnets are so weak that even the slightest pull or turn detaches one car from the next. My sons never play with this one and instead focus on the white, express train from Plan Toys that has plastic attachers that stay attached.

2What a SHAME!Aug 28, 2011

I bought this SAME train from Plan Toys a couple of years ago. There were no magnets. Instead the train was held together by brackets that clicked into place. That was precisely the reason I have always recommended these trains. Kids love to build LONG trains, and no magnet can hold up to that. We loved the brackets!!

It is truly a shame when manufacturers change the one thing about a product that makes it unique and perhaps preferable. It was willing to pay more for a quality product...

I won't be purchasing any more until they bring back the brackets!

5Fun for tykes who love trains and are too young for LionelApr 20, 2011

I gave this and a companion train to a 5 year old who loves trains. It is safe, age appropriate, and fun. I purchased a companion wooden track directly from the Plan City website.

2Weakest Magnets EVERMar 24, 2010
By Ryan O'Donnell
This is a nice little train in the Thomas/Brio compatible mold. The design is clean and simple and the overall quality is good. One major complaint however. The magnets that hold the cars together are incredibly weak. When my son pulls it around the track, the cars almost always separate which is quite annoying. If they fix that they would have a nice alternative to the Thomas product line
