Bought it for my two-year-old who loves Olivia. I fully understood that its days would be numbered at the time of purchase, but I was still disappointed to see the paper-over-cardboard construction when I took it out of the box.
The dancing Olivia is totally adorable and is clearly the box's winning quality.
Music box sounds like an 8- or 10-note scale, not very detailed in terms of melody, just one note at a time with a rhythmic one-note harmony. The "Goodnight Olivia" closing theme would have been much nicer.
When you open the box, Olivia needs a nudge to get started. Once going, she's fine.
All in all, I don't think this item is worth the $17 I paid for it.

Bought for my daughter who loves Olivia. The box came damaged,and so did the jewelry box. It is cheaply made and not durable at all. I wouldn't waste my money on it.

This was a birthday present for a 5 year old who was excited to get it. However its not a toy to be played with as it seems quite fragile. Also the workmanship was not up to standard with the seams and side panels puckering and showing where they were glued on. And the little olivia is quite delicate so one worries about breaking and over-winding. The child did love it and for the price its ok!

This could be a wonderful musical jewelry box, if it were only well constructed. First, it feels like it's made out of cardboard with the pictures pasted on and a motor dropped in. Next problem: I bought this for my daughter's third birthday in October and right out of the package it made a strange clicking sound. A couple weeks later it stopped working altogether. I contacted the seller and they sent us a new one immediately. It lasted approximately 3.5 months until the winder came off in my daughter's hands (why does it unscrew so easily from the back?)I put it back on, and now the box is broken again and no longer plays. I am going to write the company and complain.

It is decently made and granddaughter is delighted with it because she loves Olivia. She keeps some treasures in the box and enjoys watching Olivia spin when the lid opens and music plays.
