My sons (5 & 6) really wanted the alphabet and other beads to make necklaces. The beads are a good quality and they have fun using them. My big problem is the packaging - there is no way to "close" the beads so I had to swith them out of the pretty boxed package into a container with a lid. I noticed that this product is listed as many things, "beading necklace", "Alphabet beads" "Flower beads"

We bought this for our 5 year old granddaughter. She loves making jewelry with it. We liked the set because it is wooden and therefore durable. The size of the pieces makes it easy for her to handle and are not easily lost like the little round plastic beads.
This particular set also has lettering and so has a little more educational value than the other M&D sets. The packaging is also convenient for storage.

We make necklaces with these with my daycare kids names on them. It is nice that there is such a variety of letters, so you don't have to take apart one necklace to make another. Another great product from Melissa and Doug.

I bought this item as a Xmas gift for my 1/2 year old. She loved it. The first thing she wanted to do was make a necklace for one of her classmates. We found the beads to be large enough to easily thread. I was a little dissappointed with the thread. It looks like a very long shoelace which means you have to put many, many, many, many beads on it to make it look full and nice. Also, there are "anglets" at the end of the string which makes it difficult to knot. The string looks like a 4" or 6" shoelace. We could have knotted it better without the anglets. I think it is meant to be tied somehow.
The box is very attractive but it does not come with a lid. Do not open if you do not have a large ziplock bag to put in. Or at least another box to put the beans into.
I like making craft items and found this product very easy to use.
