Being an avid Trekker, after getting a classic Mr. Potato Head, I decided to venture out and get these Star Trek potato heads. I was quite impressed by the level of detail and craftsmanship put into these toys. Here's what I thought in a nutshell.
GOOD
- unique item for Star Trek fans
- pieces are removable, though they fit very tightly
BAD
- the pieces are molded specifically to fit, so if there are any errors in production, they may not fit. My Mr. Spock uniform didn't fit the potato and stay snapped shut.
- the facial features are one piece, making it difficult to truly mix and match all of the pieces
- a bit expensive

You would not imagine that the Star Trek characters could be potato heads, but the "Mr Potato Head" people were very successful. These are absolutely adorable in person (a photo does not do them justice). The colors are bright and really pop! Everything they could have added to make these obviously Mr Spock and Lt. Uhura are there. The pointed ears are great, the communication ear piece is even there! All the details! They can actually be taken apart and played with, too. The eyes, nose, and mouth are one piece, however, and the ears are attached to the hair, but maybe that's the only way they could make these to get the right effect. Overall, these are really wonderful.
