4Consider getting this for your kid's going back to school!Jul 04, 2009
By Ulyyf "Connie"
1. The triangular shape means that the crayons don't roll off the table.

2. The triangular shape ALSO helps young children grip the crayon properly.

3. The lack of wrappers means the crayons are easier to sharpen, and you don't catch the kids peeling the wrappers off for the heck of it.

4. The colors are clear and bright, not like knock-off crayons.

5. The container makes it easier for young children to get JUST the crayon they want without spilling them all on the ground.

6. These are the most durable crayons in existence. They're, like, unbreakable. It's not the shape - Crayola triangle crayons break too. I don't know what it is.

5The best crayons we ever had.Jul 23, 2007
By Joaquin Arosemena "Bristol"
These crayons are triangular, so little kids can handle them a lot easier than the round ones. They feel more like plastic than the usual wax material, making them somewhat erasable. They are extremely well made in China by a company that manufactures arts and crafts for kids (Artrain Industrial Ltd. from Hong Kong). The box we purchased from Amazon contains 24 colors and they come in a hard plastic case with a transparent lid that helps the kids keep them organized. They are marketed in the USA by the toy company "Melissa & Doug". These crayons are non-toxic, non-roll and stronger than regular crayons, our family highly recommends them.

5Great set of crayonsDec 16, 2008
By Dominique W
I purchased two sets of these crayons. Overall, I'm very pleased with them.

What I like:

No wrappers!!

They are more durable than normal crayons. My kids have broken some but nowhere near as fast as they normally do. The shape and thickness helps distribute the pressue better.

The triangular shape keeps them on the table and off of the floor.

The color variety is brilliant. The set offers a better variety of hues than average crayons.

They are easier to clean off of surfaces.

What I'm not crazy about:
The smell. I can't stand the way these smell. It's not offensive, just not pleasant. My kids could care less.

The case is difficult for smaller children to open. This can be a pro though because my kids can't get into them when I'm not nearby and this puts a damper on any wall coloring plans.

Although I like that there are no wrappers, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish some of the darker shades.

Overall I give this 5-stars and I will purchase these again.

1Terrible crayons-Don't understand other reviews!Jan 04, 2011
By mamachrista
I bought these crayons for my daughter based off of the very good reviews they received from other people. I honestly can't even begin to understand WHY people say such good things about crayons. They are NOT durable...maybe they are more durable then the thinnest Crayola crayon but certainly not the jumbo crayons. The color is so light and barely there, it's not fun for young children. The crayons feel weird and are not at all like the color of the actual crayon when the color is on paper. These are the worst crayons I think we've ever used and that includes cheap crayons you get at a restaurant for kids to color with. I usually love Melissa and Doug but I am HIGHLY disappointed with these crayons.

3Why the hype? They're no replacement for Crayola.Apr 19, 2011
By reviewer2009
I got these crayons after reading everyone's gushing reviews about them. Yes, they're triangluar. However, there's like five different shades of brown in there, and only two shades of blue. There's just one true red. We bought these to use in the car--not a good idea. It's hard sometmes to open the lid (it flips up like a steno notebook) and he can't do it on his own. He's 4. When he does manage to open it, the crayons come flying out because they don't sit very deep in the tray. He asks for colors he's used to with Crayola (gold, for one example) and I have to give him yellow or this gross yellow-brown color. I just don't see why people are so crazy about these things. Maybe the jumbo set for toddlers would be better, but it's no substitute for a big, giant box of Crayola.

He's also used them once and the tips are nearly colored off, I don't see any difference in how long they last. They wear the same.
