 Good starter horseshoe setApr 20, 2011

My 6-year-old twin daughters became aware of playing horseshoes, so I purchase this set as a way for them to learn how to play without getting a "real" set. We have played quite a few times and they have enjoyed it, but their attention span isn't long enough to let each player have enough turns to score. It is very difficult to toss the horseshoes either around the post or leaning against it. I am surprised at how lightweight the horseshoes are. I suppose that is probably for safety reasons, but I think it might be easier to play if they were a bit more substantial. Overall, though, this is a fun set that we will use for years to come.

My 3 daughter loves Miss Spider's Sunny Patch cartoon and the Sunny Patch hat she has, so I purchased this horseshoe set. Was very disappointed!!, it is nothing more than a bunch of cute platic toys (if even!), then a fun game anyone can play. There is absolutely no weight all to the horseshoes. This alone, would not enable anyone to be able to throw them at a distance to make it considered a horseshoe game. I can understand not to have it so heavey for children of young ages to hold, but realy, there has to be some weight, in order for the game to work. With all that said, would NOT Recommend you spending your money on this item.

My daughter loved playing with this at the beach! She is a little young yet to really play it, but loved throwing the crabs and seahorses at the poles and would move the poles around to her liking.

This toy was used for our daughter's 4th birthday party. It got used a little and we have used it since. Nice toy and price was right.

These are plastic but I thought they'd be metal (guess I should've looked at the product details). For a Melissa & Doug product, I'm disappointed.
