Please be advised that this is a VERY small set - it seemed bigger in the picture but when I got it in the mail it looks soo cheap and small - I'm going to have to buy something in addition to this as a gift.

Lots of beads but needs more string! It's got beautiful beads and is a delight to look at in the package. The items you make with it are beautiful as well, but you need more string in order to use the beads. This is a problem I've run into with every beading package--we always run out of the special string that children use to string their projects, and I have no idea where to buy more.
That having been said, it's a fun product, guaranteed to occupy an afternoon.

Cute bead set but very small. It can practically fit in both of my palms. Dont let the previous price of 17 bucks fool you. It was worth the 6 dollars I spent, but I could never see myself spending anything more than that. I bought two sets for my daughters bday party as an arts/craft project. The girls had fun with it. I would look around for sets that offer more beads/string for the money. Looks like a set you can buy at Walmart, not Melissa and Doug quality overall.

The contents of this cute set of beads is great! The price is right. My slightly less-than-perfect scoring comes from the fact that the adorable packaging has a flimsy, wimpy latch. It won't stay closed on its own (especially if your child wants to carry this box by the handle). I used a rubber band to secure it before releasing it to my kid. Also, it is easy to open upside down and have all the beads spill out (creating a choking hazard for younger siblings that may be underfoot). I wish the latch were stronger and a sticker logo on top to identify the top more clearly for a child.
Would I buy again? Absolutely!

I took this as a gift when I visited my 4 year old granddaughter. She loved the specialty bead, hearts, butterflies, flowers. This was the one item we played with over and over again. i am ordering another one so we can make necklaces for Daddy and Grandpa.
