Pleasantly surprised, great toy!Dec 03, 2011

I bought this for my 4 year old girls and they love dressing up the princesses! I actually didn't anticipate just how much they would love this toy. I am pleasantly surprised. Although, I always have good luck with anything by Melissa & Doug. It is also a good size and thin so I imagine it would be a good travel toy, you just have to make sure some of the small magnetic pieces don't get lost. Also, you can't tell from the picture, but the backside of the tin is also two princesses that can be dressed up. I would definitely recommend this toy!

My two girls - ages 3 & 6 - loved this. And it is great because the tin has two sides so they both can play side by side. And unlike many Melissa and Doug toys, this one has a lid!!!!!

While I love the detail and self containment of this toy it is not my favorite magnetic tin set around. Some of the pieces are very small and if you have any little ones around I'd be concerned about a piece getting left out and put into a mouth.
My daughter does love that there are two princesses and lots of different options.
I would suggest this for older children, not toddlers. The small pieces would make it a pain to clean up after.

I purchased this for my 3 yr. old niece. She seems to like it, but it does say ages 4 and up on the box (3 and up in the product description...).
So, I'm hoping I didn't get it for her too soon.
Also, the "dolls" to dress up are on the lid and bottom of the tin container. So, the dolls aren't really dolls. But don't get me wrong, this is a great product. I just think the description could have been better and more accurate.

We bought this product to bring with us on vacation. Weren't sure if this would entertain our very active 3 year old. She loves it -- entertains her for at least an hour each day. There are small pieces, like the tiers, but we haven't lost any yet !! The tin has 2 sides which is great. The magnetic tin keeps everything nice and contained. Highly recommend! Great for quiet time. I will be looking for other such products.
