The book is a great idea and is very educational. However, the magnets are not strong enough to hold the pieces in when you turn the pages. Pieces are always falling out and have to be sorted.

We have a lot of Melissa and Doug items so I saw this and was excited to order it as 'quite toy' we could take to a restaurant/ church/ somewhere he needs to be entertained but it needs to note make noise. Well, I love the IDEA of this but it just does not function well. The magnets fall out the second you pick it up! We've only had this for about a week and we've lost 3 of the magnets and my son doesn't understand that we will never get them back. Like a i said before great idea just needs to be re-worked. Stronger magnets and maybe a carrying case. Step it up Melissa and Doug! So I would strongly urge you to NOT buy this- you will be sad when you start losing all of the magnets!

I purchased this product for my son when he was 18 months. I loved play withit and in few weeks he mastered to put the letters and the figures in their right place. He has also a lot of fun with it. I highly recommend it.

my son loves this book. he has begun to learn letters from playing with it and is distracted for some time. the only negative is that the magnets could be stronger as they all fall out if you put it away and you aren't super duper careful with it.

I love the idea of this toy. Usually Melissa and Doug items are great, however, with even the slightest move, the pieces fall out. The magnets are not strong enough and my three year old daughter gets irritated with it. I do too because even as she is just putting it away, I have to trail behind her to collect the pieces that are falling out. It's a great concept, however, it could use some work.
