 colorful, quality puzzle for 8-9 year oldSep 27, 2008

this 200 piece puzzle is the correct level of difficulty for my 8 year old, who is adept at jigsaw puzzles. it is more colorful, and the cardboard is better quality, with a glossy finish, than some cheaper puzzles. the pieces are about 1 inch in size.

We got this for my 5 year old son who loves puzzles. The picture is nice and the cardboard is good quality but to my surprise one piece was missing (no, we didn't loose it on the floor) and at least 6 pieces were "doubles" - not cut properly. I was very surprised because we have had no problems with Melissa and Doug products in the past.

My son, my nephew and I had fun doing this set. The colors and shapes are different enough that we could find matching pieces without it being easy.

This is a high quality puzzle with durable pieces that fit together nicely -- snugly, but not too tight -- so that it's relatively easy to see if two peices really fit. My 5 yr old thought it was really cool that when finished she could pick up the whole puzzle without it falling apart. We liked the picture, especially the variety of colors. Highly recommended.

I bought the puzzle for my grandsons. They LOVE it. They are 5 and 7. The 7 year old can put it together pretty quickly, the 5 year old takes awhile but it kept his interest long enough that he too can finish it. It's big enough that if they want, they can both work on it together
