 Not completely compatible with Thomas trainsSep 12, 2011

The item is described as compatible with Thomas trains and tracks. While it fits fine with the wooden tracks, some of the Thomas trains are too tall for the tunnel. For example, the smoke stacks on Thomas or Rosie hit the top of the tunnel, making it impossible to go through, while other trains that are a little shorter fit through (like Diesel or any of the longer, shorter trains). For now, our 2 year old is content to "detour" the bigger trains around the tunnel, but it would've been nice to know in advance. Otherwise, it's durable and fits well with the tracks, so may be a better option if you are matching it with slightly smaller trains than the Thomas series.

My son had been asking for a tunnel for his Thomas Wooden Railway collection for quite awhile, but I was unable to locate one. This one fits perfectly and he loves it.

My son desperately wanted a tunnel for his combination Thomas/Imaginarium tracks. But we have some Thomas wooden trains, and I've read that they don't fit inside the Imaginarium tunnels, and the Thomas tunnels were too expensive. I ordered this one and it fits perfectly with the tracks and the trains. And it has stood up to my 1-year-old throwing it around and sitting on it! Just what I needed.

I specifically bought this tunnel because I wanted a tunnel tall enough for my son's Melissa & Doug engine to fit through. This one works great. It fits nicely with my tracks from Melissa & Doug and Ikea, and my son loves it. I may buy another one someday.

Obviously not same grade wood as Thomas tracks but is a great toy that I am sure will stand the test of time. Would recommend. My son loves it!
