| | | Description: | | Pelican's Landing Dock Set by Maxim: 19.25 x 19.65 x 7.5 in Land-ho! When it's time to dock The Venture Ship, the Pelican Landing Dock Set is the only place to get the job done! This wooden dock is ready for the mighty ship, with plenty of landing space and an able-bodied dock worker to handle the load. The Pelican Landing Dock also comes with a crane to unload the treasure chest of goodies, ramps that move up and down, rope railing, barrels, 2 seagulls, and a pelican - all sights for sore eyes after a long sea journey. Although the sea journey may be done when the ship docks at The Pelican Landing Dock, the fun definitely does not end! | | | Product Details: | | | Product Length:

This dock was purchased to be used wiht the Pirate Ship. While the ship is definitely heavy duty - ready for play, the dock set seems flimsy by conmparison, It is not well constructed and pieces seem to disconnect, making it a frustrating toy for a child. It is an excellent Idea but not well executed in my opinion, I don't believe the manfacturer is supplying this any longer, Perhaps they are trying to redsign.

Just like the ship this is a great old school toy for boys and girls. Built well and easy to fix when needed. You have to be handy with wood things to maintain toys like these. Our son broke the mast on the ship. A new dowel, drill and some stain and fixed! All the parts can be found in any hardwear store. To build something like this would take lots of time and money. A great deal for those who want to build but rather have fun playing with your children instead. They do collect dust (not from lack of play)so when not in play I cover them with a cloth. Our son loves his pirate ship and dock I'm sure they will be in his room till he has kids to hand them down to. Timeless toys that stimulates the imagination!

My two boys have been playing with this for a few months now, the are the cuties in the customer pictures above... And just wow! I love how the ramps and trap door attach with a simple pin system my 22 mo can work, the crane has been played with non-stop without being rendered useless by tangled lines, unlike any other toy we've ever had that had rope/string. The set is huge, a great value for money and well made. The little pelicans are adorable and look similar to european handcarved wood animals that go for 10-26 dollars a piece! I can also see this being played with for many years to come in all kinds of ways... already it pulls double duty as a train accessory (station, loading area for "coal" ramps are "hills' ETC.) as well as pirate ship dock.
Hours of Imaginative PlayJan 01, 2008
By Mom2Boys My son (now five) has had one of the Maxim ships for a few years now and it has gotten a lot of use. It serves not only as a pirate ship, but a battle fort for his little green army men, a car hauler for his hot wheels, and an ark for his animals. We decided to add to the fun this Christmas by purchasing the dock. Wow, what a geat addition. Thi dock is really well made and sturdy. My 20 month old can play right alongside the five year old. Cars, pirates, army men all seem to find a home on this nicely crafted wooden dock. It is well worth the price tag. My boys enjoy hours of imaginative play, and oh the stories they create.

This is an impressive toy, both in size and craftsmanship.
It si a very minor challange to assemble, and looks fantastic when completed. Sails operate up and down with ease like a real ship!!!
