The roundhouse we received was slightly different.. there were snowflakes painted on the outside brick walls, and instead of the ivy growing, there were snow-capped evergreens. Not a huge deal, but not as pictured.
Also, the engine bays are at an incline, so you cannot just push an engine into the shed; the door needs to be closed to keep them inside. This might be frustrating for some kids. But, it may also be fun, as the engines can dart out of the shed.
Overall quality is great- the wood is nice, and smoothly finished, and even the inside of the shed has painted details (to look like a repair shop). The push-buttons on top fling the doors open, so no trouble with grasping tiny handles. Fits well with our Thomas and Circo stuff. The shorter engine + tenders can fit (James), but the really long engines won't fit with a tender (Gordon, Hiro).
Not sure if either thing will bother my son; haven't decided if I'll keep it yet so he hasn't played with it yet.
A great value alternative to the name brand, though. I caught it when it was about $20.

My three year old is a trainaholic. He eats, sleeps and to the best of my knowledge, dreams trains. Unfortunately many Thomas originals are way overpriced, especially items like the roundhouse. For a quarter of the price you can get this solid wood, well-constructed, heavy, roundhouse that fits the Thomas and Imaginarium series of trains perfectly. It has five spring-loaded doors that open by themselves at the push of a button. The trains sit on angled tracks so when you open the door they roll out on their own. It also comes with the track piece that connects five tracks into one. Unless you're a collector this is perfect for your child. I even asked Diesel 10 and he said he liked it (and you know how hard it is to please him.

This roundhouse is even bigger and nicer than I thought it would be! Our son loves putting the trains to "sleep at night" and then pushing the button on top of each door in the morning to "wake them up" and watch them roll out by themselves! Great toy and I personally think it is so much better (and much cheaper) than the "Thomas and Friends brand.

This product was great for the price. Other buildings are in the 50-70 price range and i can't see the value in them. this product is very sturdy.

This roundhouse is exactly what my son wanted! It was bigger than I expected, but my son loves it! It fits perfectly with his wood tracks and has been holding up well after months of use. The value was great. I would definately recommend.
