Good value but...Oct 15, 2009
By Lyz Quality is pretty good for the price. Capital colored/ embossed letters on one side and lowercase opposite that. Two of the other sides have pictures related to letters. The last two sides seem kind of random and there are repeated pictures on several different blocks ('N' and 'H' both have a brick wall e.g.). The non-colored sides have what I think is an automated burn-type technique. Looks okay but some pictures are not as dark as others. My biggest complaint is that there is only 1 letter 'E'. Very strange to have 2 letter 'Z's and 'X's though. Since I wanted to spell my daughters name with 2 'E's I turned the number three unpside down and backwards.

Cute blocks but cheaper elsewhereDec 09, 2009
By B. Gibson I purchased these because they said they were big blocks for my toddler. I thought they were great until I went Christmas shopping recently for a Salvation Army Angel toddler and found the exact same blocks for $10 under the Garanimals name at a local retailer. I think the Melissa and Doug blocks on Amazon may be the same for $14.99 or less. They are all made in China so they probably package them for different companies. Shop around and read product descriptions carefully...don't overpay!

DecentNov 02, 2010
By K-T The blocks are a perfect size at 45mm. Comes in pastel colours -- not so traditional but I don't mind.
These are my first set of blocks so I don't have much else to compare to. Like the other reviewer, I find it strange that there is only one E. I've only counted the upper case letters and there are 2 of each the letters EXCEPT for A-J. It would have been great if they had more vowels and say...only one Q. It's not that important to me since I would have been content with 26 letters.
The coloured/embossed numbers are visible on 5 blocks. The distribution is a bit off but okay. On one side of every block, there is a door, window or brick wall. Anyone care to explain the significance of these pictures?
One of my S's looks slightly bad with bits of wood coming out but I won't be giving these to very young kids so it's a minor flaw.
Beautiful set of blocksFeb 03, 2012
By Micah I like these blocks because there are more colors than the traditional set of blocks. The blocks are larger and have both upper case and lower case letters. VERY cute!
Alphabet blocksNov 04, 2011
By ciocido23 These are a great size for toddlers as they are larger than the average 1" cubes. Being an OT I use blocks a lot in my work in a school system and these are really nice, however they are a gift for my new grandson!
