Great gift for a 12-year old Lego Bionicle NutMay 05, 2010
By J. Lee

These smaller sets aren't about building them. It took my 12-year old Lego nut nephew only a couple of minutes to put together. They're more about the on-going play with a known character and the collecting of them. And, for the eight bucks this one cost me, it gets more than it's value worth of play.
Takanuva, as my nephew informed me, is the only known Toa of light - but has powers of light, shadow and flight. In early 2010, Lego released him and five other characters. So,if you're trying to find a gift a bionicle collector might not have yet, any in this set (7116 Tahu, 7117 Gresh, 7135 Takanuva, 7136 Skrall, 7137 Piraka and 7138 Rahkshi) are probably good options.
Each one comes with a gold piece that when all the characters of the set are collected, the pieces can be used to create a "golden shield" for Tahu - the toa of fire, turning him into a "Golden Toa" that bionicle-wise folks know from the movie.
Takanuva is one of the more popular of the set, but I'd recommend getting Tahu (Set 7116) first or to go along with this one if buying a gift. He's the one the gold shield pieces will ultimately be used upon. His comes with the gold mask that completes his golden warrior outfit(this one comes with a gold piece that can be used on the shoulder or other part of the chest). And finally, he's probably the most popular of them all.
As Amazon toy buyers know, it's worth shopping around to make sure you're getting a decent price versus other store options as they can vary so dramatically.

Great Lego Kit!Apr 15, 2011
By E. Kennedy This is a great Bionicle kit for any enthusiast. Excellent for Lego builders who are on the younger side too. Not so complicated that they wont be able to do it or they need assistance with the whole thing. Great gift for anyone collecting the Hero series.
I love the Takanuva Stars figureMay 08, 2012
Takanuva is probably one of my favorite STARS figure I have.
Pros. Love the Mask of light, Is pretty durable for a Matoran/Agori size figure and
Took me about 30 seconds to build.
No Cons. for me to mention.
I strongly recommend this Toa of Light to any BIONICLE fans or LEGO fans.
More of a play toy.Apr 11, 2012
By Rona L. Spears I'm a collector of anything bionicle or hero factory, and I must say I was always a fan of takanuva. This was.. smaller than expected. It's more of an action figure than a construction work, and definitely good for younger kids to play with because of how easy it is to assemble. I don't like that the mask is silver while the rest of it is white. I did paint the mask white to match. However, it is takanuva, and I can't hate it too much. It was convinient enough that the gold piece that came with it is the same as the white chest piece, so you can swap them out if you like. However, it's not much to brag about. It is the final run of bionicle, so if you're a hardcore collector, you should grab one. However, I would suggest keeping it mint. Inside the canister there's not a whole lot to show off about, a short, hunch-backed takanuva who didn't stay true to the gold color scheme in the least. The price has gone up, so it's not terribly worth buying as a toy anymore either. I give it a 6/10

Hard to beat legos for the grandchildren, this was a birthday gift and I keep getting other numbers that are added to the wish list.
