Lego Toys Are Amazing!Sep 11, 2010
By Lew
"lewearly"
I purchased this as a gift for a five year old boy. He immediately opened it and tackled building it. He successfully completed it that afternoon. A big plus for Lego toys is the instructions: Lego got its instructions right. That a five year old can assemble this toy on his own, without help, pretty much says it all. The directions are clear and easy to understand. Their method is to show all of the parts needed for each step, which allows you to collect the parts needed before you start each step. They even put life-size pictures of similar parts that allow you to compare the actual piece with the picture to make sure it's the right size. The only problem we encountered occurred when we put the finishing touches on it in the final steps. It can be a little hard to attach pieces without accidentally removing others (for which I removed a star from the durability rating). It's said that getting there is half the fun, but in this case building these toys seems to be the most fun of all.

Great Lego Star Wars minifigure setOct 20, 2010
By Justin Gaines My Lego-loving son has recently discovered the original Star Wars trilogy. After buying the Snowtrooper Battle Pack, he set his sights on the Rebel Trooper Battle Pack. This set is essentially a collection of four minifigures - Zev Senesca (an X-Wing/Snowspeeder Pilot) and three Rebel Troopers, one of which is a mustached Rebel Commander (those of us old enough to remember the original Empire Strikes Back figures will recall that one) - with a few accessories.
Complexity: This was a pretty easy set to build. My son assembled the minifigures, and my wife, a Lego novice, built the gun platform.
Playability: The sky's the limit. Recreate scenes from the movie, or make up your own stories. Since he already had the Snowtrooper set, my son was ready to have the two sides battle.
My son absolutely loves this set. It makes a great counterpart to the Lego Star Wars: Snowtrooper Battle Pack 8084 Action Figure, and is one in a series of great Hoth-themed Lego sets released recently.

Hoth battle packApr 25, 2011
This set is amazing for the price! i got it at Walmart for 11.99, this site actually has a better price! First off, you get 4 rare minifigures and 3 guns. It has a speeder/glider thing that is not actually seen in the movies! It has "flick fire" missles ( witch i am not a fan of) and a rotating laser turret, and a removable storage bin! Overall, I give this set 4 stars.

Good value as a starter lego kitJul 08, 2010
By Belynda Jullien My boys are really too young at 5 and 4, but they had an interest in Star Wars so I tried this small kit. They love the figures. The pieces are too small for their age but in a couple of years it will be great.

LEGO Star Wars Rebel Trooper Battle Pack (8083)Nov 26, 2011
By David Kenney My son likes this set more than most of his - first, it comes with 4 guys and they all have GUNS! (what is more exciting than that?) Second, the speeder has a double lazer turret and a flick missile on either side. There is also a "cargo box" in the front of the vehicle that doesn't really have a purpose. My son thinks its a picnic box, so when the pilots take a break from fighting they can stop and have lunch. However, for you Star Wars purists, it should be noted that this speeder (dubbed "the ice cutter" or "Rebel Combat Speeder") is not in the actual film.
The figure named "Zev Senesca" is the pilot who finds Luke in the Snowspeeder search, "Echo Base, this is Rogue Two. I've found them. Repeat, I've found them." (THAT guy) The rest of the figures are AT-AT fodder.
