4Overall, a good set!Oct 17, 2010
By Magnum Fan
I am writing this review for my 11-year-old, so here is his perspective:

Overall the set is good. It comes with numbered bags which make it easy to assemble. The emperor is a great addition since the only other way to get him is with the $400 Death Star set. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
wings fold easily
doesn't come apart too easily
cockpit opens up nicely
injured Anakin minifig has good details
back gun swivels easily
great detail on cockpit viewscreen
good seating for clone pilot
front weapons and engines are realistic
landing gear is smooth so it can skid across the ground easily
very sleek design
when I fly it around, the guys stay in their seats

Cons:
it should seat more minifigs, only seats two figs and there is not much space for them
the top comes off too easily so I modified it to make it more secure
did not include enough weapons, so I added some to the wings myself
Anakin's helmet mechanism does not work well...there's not enough room to play (the helmet mechanism takes up most of the space) so I removed it and put extra seats for stormtroopers
overall it's pretty small for a $60 set
should have included more maroon/red bricks to make it look like the one from the movie...it only included 6 3x1 flats so I added about 12 more to make it look maroon/red

Overall I like this set and my mom got it for 12 dollars less at Costco for my birthday so it was worth it.

5Great set, as advertisedOct 18, 2010
By MinnesotaTed
Gave it to my Lego-obsessed son for his 6th birthday. He was able to do most of the building himself, with occasional help/corrections from me. I think the age ranges are way too high. This is a very cool set, with the lift off top, detachable front capsule, and movable wings and landing gear. I think the thing that puts on Darth Vader's helmet is silly but my son likes it. He does play with the completed ship, and it's been fairly durable. It's big - a two handed toy for him, but has held up well except for the wings slowly coming loose over time (easily fixed if noticed before they fall apart). I fully recommend this set.

5This is one of the BEST Legos!Jun 24, 2011
By ~purplemoon~ "The Quiet Corner"
(This review is written by my 11 year old son with my permission:)
This shuttle is the best! It has secret compartments, 2 light saber holders, and the top comes off for easy movement inside the vehicle, and the cockpit is an immediate ejection for the pilot when they crash. If you think $45.00 is a lot of money it's worth it, big-time....WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS REVIEW WHILE YOU COULD BE BUYING THIS NEW LEGO!?

5most fun lego set to buildNov 25, 2010
By Tim
I have been playing with legos my whole life. I started out in the early 80's. this was the most fun set to build I have owned. I agree that the back should be bigger. It would be nice if there was a set to fire the gun. But nothing is ever perfiect. For the price and how much went into this design it is the best lego set currently offered.

4Another Lego Star Wars ContraptionJan 03, 2011
By L. Flaugher
This one is pretty cool. Changing Anakin into Darth Vader is of course the best part. As all lego kits, easy enough to put together as long as you follow the directions step by step. I will say my son thinks this one is the best so far.
