 Great lego set at a good price!Oct 15, 2008

My 5 year old is a lego nut, he has been building them for 2 years now and this is one of his favorites. We usually buy lego age ranges of 7-12 for him. He put together the Racer X car in one evening and plays with it everyday now - it's very durable. It took him two days to put together the Cruncher Block truck and he needed help on a few tricky parts - this one it not as good for play afterwards - a few little parts (like side mirrors) that fall off if handled too much. Overall this was a good set at a good price.

My 8 yr old grandson got this for his birthday. He loved it and immediately started to work on it. Lots of fun and good toy for the money

Great for Speed Racer FansJan 19, 2010

I brought this for my 5 year old for Christmas. He loves Speed Racer and Legos. He is to little to build it himself but I enjoy building them so I put it together. Like all Lego toys the more rough they are played with the faster they fall apart but that is when they can use the parts to build whatever their imagination can think up.

My Grandson loved this truck & raced the cars down the ramp, over the coffee table, threw the dogs legs, around the kitchen. I think it was a hit.

Compare to other Lego set, can only give it 3 stars for some of the issues.
PROS:
- Typical Lego quality
- Racer X minifig
- alternative Taejo minifig
- Racer X's car is very well thought up and built
- The front and bottom(wheels and axles) of the truck look really nice
- The fish tank, paintings, and missile add a nice touch to the truck
CONS:
- you get one of the cars in another Racer set. There is no reason to have duplicate car in the same set.
- The truck has no top or left side wall to cover the interior, exposing the secrets of "The Mammoth Car" to the public. Lego could have made removable panel doors or something like that.
- All of the mini-figs are bald(except racer-x with his helmet).
