Mars Mission Tank AmbushOct 22, 2007

"tank"
This is an excellent product for children learning to build and create items. Once constructed, the tank is very fragile and easy to break. If the item is to be purchased for a child who will play with the item after constructed, STAY AWAY!

More of a model than a toyApr 11, 2008

The thing about these lego sets is that the toy aspect of it isn't durable for the average boy. Yes it's great learning how to put things together, but if the darn thing keeps losing pieces if you are playing with it as an "action figure" the kid gets frustrated and annoyed. And as the mom who has a hard time even figuring out how to build the thing, when a piece pops off, you have to almost refer back to the original directions which are nowhere to be found.

Pros:clawer and blaster arms, head moves 360 degrees around, rocket things on top, shootin' function,(pssst, I thought about a R.C Claw Tank but I dont have any Power Functions.) Cons: can't find another! Great set.
Lego Mars Mission MT-51Claw-Tank AmbushJan 18, 2011
By Jean R. Brown My grandson loves this Lego Mars Mission MT-51 Clae-Tank Ambush, he is a lego buff. This lego set was from an old series and it was everything he wanted it to be. I'm sure we will make other purchases in the future.
Thanks
A mom and son reviewMar 09, 2009
By fixit The 6-year-old's P.O.V.: This Mars Mission set is totally wrong. It's more of a model than a toy. If you want to get the astronaut out of the vehicle, you have to take a piece off and the whole thing can fall apart. Also, if you try to move it, pieces get loose. The alien's arms don't move, he can't sit either. Who cares if the alien glows in the dark - I want to play with him. The astronaut is good because he moves. The launching disks DO work. I like that this set is about space and has two ships. It's cool, but not as cool as I expected from the box. I have lots of Legos - I usually build my own creations with this one.
Mom's P.O.V: I was so happy when Lego started to make space-themed sets again. Unfortunately, this one is not politically correct as a previous reviewer explained, and it has taken a number of parent-son talks to get this point across to my six-year-old. He still considers the aliens the "bad guys" and worthy of destruction. I agree this is a hard set to keep together, but it's got great pieces and stickers, so my son plays with it free-style quite often. Definitely not a waste of money, but Lego has to start considering the messages it's sending to little ones. My son gave the ratings, not me :)
