5Massive Vehicle = Massive FunAug 27, 2010
By MarineDad99
First let me say that I just assembled this thing last night and had a blast. It took me a couple of hours, and was a really fun build. The vehicle has a really big footprint as it's about 18" long or so. When opened it's also incredibly wide. The wheels all glide and roll VERY smooth, however I have yet to roll this thing on hard flat surfaces (only carpet). The wheels seem to be designed for carpet with their tred style, but who knows. My only negative comment is the single, thin rubber band used in the folding process. It's small and stretches quite a bit during motion. I just took mine off... doesn't REALLY need to be on there.

The pilot is what he can be expected to be... a free Bionicle. His helmet is a maroon version of the same helmet on the chariot rider (with 2 headed dog) in this same series of toys. He has no weapons or fancy armor, but he sits in the vehicle, so thats that.

If you were to just use this set for kit parts you'd be well off as well. There are loads of great parts to exchange and use with your other sets and many parts that can be used to upgrade character weapons and armor as well (not just "vehicle" specific parts). Heck the 4 blasters and thornax launcher (1) are just the beginning. Many great sword like items to pilfer from this beast. It's like a rolling Bionicle armory.

Final comment: I'm pleased with the quality that LEGO put in this toy. I'm anxiously awaiting the scorpion from the same series to see what that has to offer, but this one will hold me over for some time. There are so many connecting links you could easily rebuild this as a massive unicycle-like exo/vehicle (my project for tonight). (If you want to try it, start by building from BOOK 2 and build up through adding the MAIN wheel in. You'll have the pilot seat and main wheel built. You can improvise with ALL the other parts from there. LOTS OF PARTS if you go this route.)
