Fun robotic toyMay 19, 2011

We got these as an activity/ take home gift for a 7 year old's birthday party. The instructions were challenging for all but the most avid builders in the 6-7 age range, however they could all do it with a little help from an adult. Makes a cute robot toy and the pieces are all reusable. They can combine sets to make more complex robots. Great toy for your budding engineers.

My 7-year old daughter received this as a present. It was her first experience with KNex. One thing I appreciated was that since the two sides are identical I created one and then she could copy what I had done. It took us about 20 minutes to put together but would have taken much less time if I had done it myself. She watched it attempt to hop: it didn't work terribly well on carpet or hard wood floor. She turned it off and just played with it. She loves it despite the fact that it hardly moves. She has since added many more of them to her birthday wish list.
