 Crumbles as you assembleFeb 09, 2012

My 8 year old son, in disgust, left me to finish building this on my own. As you attempt to push the pieces together, any other place you are touching can't handle the force and the pieces crumble apart - seriously! I have attempted building this a couple of times, keeping in mind previous attempts. The blocks do not stay tight no matter how well you assemble it. Forget playing with the car once it's made...you may never get it made to begin with. And for those of you who figure you're good enough to handle it better than I, well, don't be mad when it just doesn't work out for you and you find out you've wasted your money. I may try to use the instructions with actual LEGO pieces and see how that turns out.

My son just recieved this as a Christmas gift from our neighbor. The pieces come apart VERY easily. Many have tried to copy, but only Legos appear to actually stay snapped together. This toy will not be driven for long. I have already had to put it back together 3 times in 30 minutes. I guess it really should just be built and put on a shelf like the title says. It really is a "Model Set" and not a toy.

Bought this for my son's 7th birthday. The "Lego-like" pieces come apart too easily and any attempt to snap the traditional K'Nex pieces in (which fit tightly) cause the "Lego-like" pieces to fall apart. Need to make sure you piece together the "Lego-like" pieces separately from the K'Nex parts and then join them. Once we both put the car together, it fell apart as soon as my son tried driving it around (the "Lego-like" pieces). Only previous experience we've had with K'Nexs was with the larger K'Nex pieces with the traditional rods and connectors. Real Legos connect and stay together MUCH better than these, but they don't have the holes to combine the traditional K'Nex parts.
