I love sitting and putting Lego projects together with my son. This kid however was a nightmare. I would get one part put together and get ready to connect another part only to have the first part fall apart. This happened again and again. The directions stink, plain and simple. They are not easy to follow and need to be broken down into more steps. This is not a toy that can really be played with once put together, as it is constantly falling apart. I remember playing with K'nex for hours with the boys that I nannied for in the mid-nineties. These are not of the same quality. Don't waste your money on this set. I was excited when my son received this from his grandmother, but my excitement quickly dwindled into frustration.

I was so excited about K'Nex when I bought this product for my son's birthday. More than 1 of my friends had recommended this brand as a great toy that their boys loved when growing up. The quality of the manufacturing must have changed. The instruction book is extremely hard to follow. I have no problems following instructions for Lego kits with many more pieces. This booklet made me go cross-eyed. Plus, the parts are flimsy. We got to a point where we needed several pieces to fit onto a large piece at the same time, and we just couldn't get it to work. I can't figure out whether it's because the individual pieces aren't all produced in the correct dimensions, or they're warped, or the parts that are supposed to stay straight are bending too much. Anyways, my son and I just couldn't complete the dump truck. It's sitting in a cabinet half-finished. The whole experience was so frustrating, that my son is playing with different toys instead.
