My son is almost 7 years old and he wanted to build a fair for a long time. I finally saw these in a store and bought the swing ride. He absolutely loves playing with it. Some of the steps were a little tough on him (pushing two things together). But overall it was perfect for his age. The instruction booklet is very good. It explains the built step by step. The only thing I didn't like, is that some of the rods aren't connecting to each other at the top. Not sure if it's suppposed to be like that or not. An adult will need to help with the built, at least for the younger ones. While 199 pieces sounds a lot, he had fun counting all the different colored pieces and setting them up in piles. It didn't take us too long to put the ride together. It works well and my son truly enjoys it. I will buy the other rides as well, since he is asking for them. I think they will make a great Christmas present for him.
