I was very happy to stumble upon KID K'nex and my daughter (3yrs) really loves them. The construction crew is the latest addition to our collection and we really love the new pieces we got. In buying KID K'nex we quickly learned the boxes are three times bigger then what you get inside and there are not much in the way of instructions. My Daughter has adapted. From her point of view, she sees new pieces, like with this set a scoop and 'orange' eyes. I also feel that with out 'instructions' she is able to see the pictures and create her version of what she wants to play with.
With this latest set we are having a challenge they are not staying together as well and the wheels are not the quality of another set we had gotten. But the wheels do work fine.
I would and have recommended this toy and will continue to add to our collection just to obtain new 'pieces'.

This fun kit will help your younger child to discover the world of construction vehicles. Who haven't drived past a construction crew repairing a road or a bridge? We do. And the boys are excited about seeing the big trucks. This kit will permit your boy (or girl for that matter) to discover how the BIG trucks work and how they can be used while working on the road. You can build five different machines with this kit. Each vehicle will have a big set of eye which makes it funny to play with. My boys are a bit old for this box but I think it would be a wonderful gift for a little one. My daughter loves to build with Kid K'Nex but somehow she is not as attracted to trucks and vehicles as boys would be. This box is geared for children ages 3 and up.

My daughter absolutely loves this toy. I think it's a little hard to figure out the setup of it and it doesn't come with instructions, but it's just off imagination. She isn't usually a toy player. She would rather rip apart books, but these toy really grabbed her attention. She loved the big googly eyes on the characters as well as the scoops. She had a lot of fun building her sets and plays with this toy daily.

My not quite 3 year old has lots of fun with this set. Although I'm sure there were no instructions because a 3 year old isn't going to be able to follow them anyway, I would have liked a simple set to make some of the creations shown on the box. But we did ok winging it and my little guy really could have cared less what we made. He loves the eyes and the wheels so anything beyond that was a bonus. I like the free play, creativity this set allows. Although my son is slightly under the 3+ recommended age he really doesn't put anything in his mouth so I don't worry about that but it does have a couple semi-small parts so this is a consideration if you are buying it for someone under 3. The greatest thing about this set compared to many of the bigger kids sets is that because of its free play/build concept if you lose a part you can still use the rest of the set. It can also be combined with other kid k'nex sets to create even bigger designs.
