As a parent, I don't get it...but my 11 yr old saved his money for it and was thrilled. I can say that the quality of the product is higher than I expected it would be. Very durable. Easy to put together and re-configure. Can be set up into lots of different plans. Great for the young engineer! The cat likes the hex bugs too.

My kids have used these to build all sorts of elaborate courses for their nano bugs. They haven't lost interest yet, and having the different parts instead of a regular set lets them use their imagination to build pretty much anything.
