Fun for a while, but...May 22, 2011

My toddler niece loved this toy for the day, but after that it was less interesting. The magnets are polarized, so they only work together in one direction, which is more geared towards pre-schooler and & Thomas trains than it is for toddlers. Unfortunately the animals and play is more suited for toddlers, so it makes having fun with these difficult. I think the concept is a good one, but the execution could have used more thought.

I was very surprised to read the other 3 reviews. Our 15month old boy loves them. They are in the bath tub at each bath and are the first toy he looks for.
He is very facinated by them and really focuses when playing with them.
We'll be buying more!

I was excited about getting this toy for my then-22 month old daughter for Christmas. Mainly because it was not made in China, and she has expressed interest in other magnetic toys (such as fridge magnents, or my son's magnetix set. However, I have to say she really hasn't played with them that much. The magnet pieces can get wedged inside the plastic parts so that even I can hardly push them out.
I really really want to love the toy, and I definately love the concept but these just aren't being played with much. Which is a bummer, cause they were relatively pricey!

I spent a lot of time looking for a 1 year birthday toy that was not battery operated, had pieces to put together, had educational value, and could grow with my daughter as she ages and still keep her interest. I had high hopes for this toy based on reviews. And, I must say it is very durable and will last for a long time. However, it's rather blah and lacking in whatever aspect it is that attracts kids to toys, as it is not popular with her or any of her friends. The characters are not very cute and don't look very much like the animal they are supposed to be. I was very glad that the toy is sealed and water proof, as I have used it as a bath toy instead since it couldn't compete with the other toys in the toy room.

I'd consider myself a fairly bright person, but I don't get this toy. I was fooled into thinking its European roots made this a smarter toy for kids. My 10 month old and my 2 year old have no interest in this toy. I can't blame them. If I hadn't thrown the box away, we would have returned it. It'll be going to the thrift store on our next kids'room cleanout. Boring!
