I ordered this box for my niece because I thought she would really like the girl & the cat sitting on a bench in the front of the box. The girl looks a little bit like my niece, who also has a little cat.
Well the box arrived and, unlike the image we see here, there's another picture in front (a blond girl playing with a dog) and the picture of the girl on the bench appears on the back of the box. That would not be a big deal in itself. The problem is that, being on the back, the key to wind the music box is stuck right in the middle of the girl's face! You can hardly see her face, with that hole cutting part of it and the key sticking out of it. It's very weird looking and I imagine it could even be disturbing for a little girl.
Apart from this, the box is very cute, I'm happy with the size, the music and the little ballerina twirling inside are pretty. Unfortunately I have to add that the finishing leaves a lot to be desired and makes one wonder how long the box would last in the hands of a young girl. The paper with the design is glued to the box and the box arrived with the upper corner already starting to peel off, for instance. The drawers are a bit flimsy and fall quite easily when one moves the box around.
Bottomline: I imagine that if the box had arrived with the picture on the right side and the paper were not peeling off already, I would be very happy with it and given it probably 4 stars. Unfortunately this did not happen and right now I am only disappointed.
I'm sending it back and asking for the money back instead of a replacement, because I'm worried that all of them would come like that.
