After assembling according to the instructions the wheels didn't turn and everything else was extremely loose. So we removed some pieces and the wheels moved but even after trying it several different ways I can not get the pieces to tighten. Definitely not worth the 9.95 we paid.
Not bad for a first kitMar 28, 2011
By N. Miller I purchased this at a local toy store, where it had been discounted to $5.00. My review reflects the price I paid, and I'd say it's well-worth it. My six year-old son is a Lego enthusiast, and I wanted to introduce him to classic Erector sets - the kind with as little plastic as possible. This bi-plane did not disappoint. Painted metal is used sparingly, and the only non-metal pieces are the tires, and the "plug" that holds the propeller assembly in the plane's barrel.
The instructions are fine, as long as you take it slow. And it conveniently includes all required tools inside the box. I also noticed that they included a few extra pieces - just in case. There is no way he could have assembled the toy by himself, but with a willing parent, this is an inexpensive, and rewarding toy.
