These models are tough to put together. There are many pages of instructions and little pieces to fit together. I had a difficult time getting some of them to stay together. The screw just weren't long enough for the two or three pieces that were supposed to be held together. Plus it takes a really long time to finish one model. My son was eager at the beginning to help but lost interest after about 40 minutes. Frustrating!

This was my 6-year old's favorite Christmas gift! It's meant for slightly older kids, so he does need a lot of our help while building each vehicle. However, seeing him proudly complete a project makes it a worthwhile purchase!

It would be excellent for older children.My grandson lost interest (he is 4 1/2),it was dificult to enjoy it byhimself and once he needs help he walks away.
I should have waited another year to buy it

I thought this would be great for my son who just turned 5 and likes to put things together and use tools. This was hard for me to put together. The plastic screws loosen easily and don't hold together well. One of the blue plastic plates cracked at the hole all ready. I thought this would be durable to play with but the plastic bolts keep coming apart if he even tries to play with it after we struggle to get it all connected. It is making me and my son frustrated. Unfortunately I threw the box away all ready or I would return it. It probably would have been better to just buy the metal erector set.

Our 6 year old grandson loves putting things together. This was great fun and he was able to do it by himself.
