Great blocks and a nice starter size.Dec 24, 2010
By S. Mulkey
These blocks are really nice. The colors are great and it comes with a booklet to give you ideas for building. I had thought about getting a larger set, but this is plenty for my son at his age (he just turned five).

Wow! Fun!Dec 31, 2011
I bought this for my 2-year-old daughter after seeing Citiblocs chosen as a "Toy of the Year" by a writer on Slate.com.
My first impression was one of disappointment. The blocks are actually very thin, maybe 1/4 inch at most, and long. They seemed very insubstantial, more like balsa wood than pine.
However, I quickly began to enjoy using them with my daughter. They can be stacked and balanced in ways that other blocks cannot, and some very fun structures await you. I now look forward to when my daughter requests we use them!
As for age appropriateness, I think they are better suited for a 4 or 5+ year old child, at least for independent play. My 2-year-old can't do much with them except for line them up and make what she calls a blanket! I'm sure she will grow into them quickly, and learn to have her own fun.

Very FunSep 14, 2015

CitiBlocs sent our boys a bucket of blocs to play. They’re the girl color version, but our boys didn’t seem to mind at all. The have some with people, pets, roofing, stones, straight pink color or just the plan ole beige color on the blocs itself for that great dollhouse experience. The blocs are all the same size, maybe little smaller than a pencil in length. These work great on any hard surface rather then carpet and material like that. They’re great for all ages in the toddler years to even adults. You can build all sorts of things, even make them high as can be. The wood is great quality and handle toddler hands well. The bucket can be used to hold the blocs once the kids are done playing them. You can do a wipe down on the blocs and they handle that pretty well.

Amazed by how loved these blocks areApr 11, 2013
My boys love the idea book that comes with these blocks and cannot stop building from the book and from their imaginations. I bought them two 100-piece sets and it's not enough! I even find myself drawn to the blocks. The blocks are smaller than I expected (less than 1 inch X 4-5/8 inch). The colors are pure and bright yet do not bleed at all. My children traded their extensive megaBlok collection for these wooden blocks and believe they got a great deal. The Legos haven't even seen much play since these blocks arrived. I will be buying more in other colors.
Kapla-sized, not Kapla qualityNov 08, 2015

Four stars for awesome colors (really bright, attractive colors) and price. But! You totally get what you pay for. These are Kapla sized blocks without the Kapla price tag - or the Kapla quality. Minus one star for bad quality. These are super rough compared to the Kapla blocks I personally have paid a pretty penny for (and the others we were gifted with). They obviously used a lesser quality wood and did not finish them as nicely as Kapla does. OTOH, the kids haven't gotten splinters from them yet and they stack just as well as the Kaplas, However, I personally wouldn't let a baby/toddler chew on these (god only knows what they're colored with and again, super rough). YtoleranceMV.
